Our Mission and Vision

We believe the Great Commission is a commission for all Christians.  According to Mark 16:15, Jesus says, “And he said unto them, go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”  God has called us to go to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, on behalf of all the churches that will partner with us in this much needed ministry.

While serving in the U. S. Army for 23 years, my wife and I have developed a deep love and respect for soldiers.  We plan to work alongside the chaplains and maintain an open-door, home away from home style of ministry to reach many Soldiers for Christ.  We plan to accomplish this by having soldiers over for home-cooked meals, Bible studies, discipleship training (teaching them how to love God and others), mentoring, fellowship, spiritual accountability, and other fellowship activities.  Our passion is to reach the single, permanent party soldiers living in the barracks.  Our home will be a place where soldiers can go to for a respite from their daily reality of Army life.  For a few hours or a night, we will provide a safe place to enjoy Christian fellowship with both a family and other soldiers.  We love people so providing a “home away from home” environment for our soldiers will be a great joy!

“Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:” Colossians 1:28

“So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.”  I Thessalonians 2:8

We will be open six days a week (except Thursday).  Every Sunday, we will serve Sunday dinner to soldiers.  Friday evenings are reserved for dinner and Bible Study.  Soldiers will be welcome during other times during the week and on holidays.

Our Vision

When we first arrive at Fort Leonard Wood, we plan to get to know the chaplains on the installation.  At the same time, I will be making contacts with the Post Commander, Garrison Commander, Post Command Sergeant Major, Garrison Command Sergeant Major to tell them that I am a resource to assist the chaplains.  At the same time, I will be making contacts with the permanent party soldiers working to connect individuals to God through a personal relationship with His Son, Jesus Christ (John 3:16; John 5:24; Ephesians 2:8-9), to teach men and women all that God has commanded in His Word so that they might be established in their faith, mature in their thinking, and equipped to serve the Lord and his people as He has gifted them (Ephesians 4:11-13; I Peter 4:10-11), to encourage individuals to boldly share the hope that they have found in Christ with their friends, family, and co-workers (Matthew 28:19; Acts 8:4; Romans 1:16), and to train disciples to make disciples (Matthew 28:19; II Timothy 2:2; 3:16-17).

We will be working through Landmark Baptist Church in Rolla, Missouri to our mission and goals.

None of this will be possible without your prayers and financial support of us and our ministry!  We are very thankful for those of you that are already praying and giving.  We look forward to being able to provide fruit to your account.  We also ask that you read our monthly prayer letters and pray for the expressed needs.  Also, according to Luke 10:2 and Matthew 9:38, we are to pray.

“Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.”
— Luke 10:2
“Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”
— Matthew 9:38

It is our prayer that we will have many soldiers getting saved, attending our Bible Studies, growing in the Lord, being discipled, and then discipling others.  We thank you for all of your prayers!
